CNN’s reporting how travel blogging is modifying the globe of travel. This kind of examples include things like JetBlue’s reluctant policy change to permit folded bikes on their planes (at no charge!), hotel management’s eagerness to quash undesirable publicity by bribing bloggers with free of charge hotel rooms, and the clarification of WestJet’s breastfeeding policy (allowed!). In all seriousness, I imagine what this report’s acquiring at is how the world-wide-web’s filling a void for actual, honest, intriguing travel coverage untainted by the heavily subsidized, press-junket infiltrated mainstream travel media. (Wow, that last sentence helps make me sound like the Sean Hannity of travel blogging. I’ll test to tone it down a bit.) The travel market isn’t just hip to blogging.
