Why You Need an Airbnb Listing in London

Image
In the span of just eight years, Airbnb has risen from San Francisco start-up to a global property phenomenon – now valued at $25 billion. The premise is simple: hosts let out spare rooms or full properties that will be vacant for a short period of time, and those in search of short-term holiday accommodation can rent it out. For each successful booking, Airbnb charge a host service fee of 3 per cent, on which VAT is also payable. This ease of use coupled with the high rates of revenue generated has seen Airbnb spread to have users in more than 191 countries throughout 34,000 cities. London is of course one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and given the high cost of hotels here (averaging £136 a night) it’s perhaps no wonder that holidaymakers are in search of a more affordable option. For those living in London with room to spare then, there’s an opportunity to make a substantial amount of revenue straight away. Not to mention, London is perfect to give A...

Stockholm Metro Station – the Longest Gallery in the World Found in Sweden

Image
Stockholm Metro Station, Stockholm, Sweden. Unofficially known as the „world’s longest art gallery“, the metro station has some exciting paintings. First underground painting was painted in 1970s. The colorful rugged surface of the walls and ceiling gives a surreal impression of flaming space. 90 of 100 stations exhibit paintings of almost 150 artists. The initial goal was to bring art to public by using the public space. The idea worked out very well and today this might be the most popular metro station in the world. And the most exciting, making metro attractive and cozy. Why to go there? Metro is the easiest way to get around Stockholm, plus you get to see the art and how a casual public space can be turned into something so captivating. When to go there? Anytime. How to get there? Easy access from Stockholm. Lead photo by Alexander Dragunov Photo by Alexander Dragunov Photo by Alexander Dragunov Photo by Alexander Dragunov Photo by Alexander Dragunov Photo by Alexan...

Adventures en route to Paris

Image
Bonjour!! I started the year with a trip to Paris – * The City of Lights*  – the capital of France – recognized for its architecture, museums, bridges, cathedrals, and beautiful monuments and overtime has also gained the status of the ‘City of Love’. I started my journey early morning at 8h45 from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, India via Qatar Airways. This was my first time at the international airport & the very first international travel and I was nervous as hell. Thanks to my nervousness, I reached the airport super early by 6h30, cleared security and was already on way towards the gate by 7h00. I was traveling solo, so the officials at the check-in counter raised some suspicious questions on me as if traveling solo is a crime..huh??? After security clearance and exploring the entire airport & the duty-free shops reached the gate by 07h50 and enjoyed my morning coffee while waiting for the boarding to start. Suggested Read ...

Drunk Jon

Drunk Jon All in all I think it was a good birthday for Jon. We met a bunch of Americans going to school in Spain as well as some cool Aussies and of course, Canadians. They all helped celebrate and again, it was another late night in Lagos. Fueled by Crystal beer (that’s right) and flaming shots of absinth, it was a gooder.

I love German Beer!

Image
I love German Beer! Last night we went on a beer tour and had a blast. Apart from drinking a lot of good German beer, we got an education as well. Germans love their beer. So much so that there is laws about what can be put in it. Makes you realize how bad North American beer is. We had a cool guy named John from Chicago on the tour. He loves Budweiser and got teased pretty good by our guide. Here are some pics from the blurry night. Our tour ended at the famous Haufbraus (spelling?) and it was amazing. The place was packed and it was a Monday night. We met a true bavarian man who owns a table there. He was decked out in the full leader hosen and hat. We got some good pics but they are on Jon’s camera. I will post later on. We ended the night at our hostel bar and crashed around 700. We had to be out by 10:00 so there was a lot of down time. Next stop, Prauge…or Berlin. Freedom is awesome. Shaun I loves me some German Beer.

A Weekend in Amsterdam

Image
Many people associate Amsterdam with the infamous Red Light District and its unrivaled bike culture (the thousands of bikes are impressive), but it’s also charming, outrageously fun, and trendy in a wide range of scenes , whether that be culinary, fashion, or art. One visit will hook you for life. I recently spent a short weekend in Amsterdam (an easy getaway from my home in Paris). Friday: Shopping the 9 Streets & Michelin-Starred Dining After arriving, head directly to one of the most desirable parts of the city, the 9 Streets, and check-in at The Pulitzer Amsterdam . Here, you are never too far from anything (especially if you rent a bike). Virtuoso travelers receive breakfast, a welcome cocktail, and a $100 food and beverage credit. The neighborhood is one of Amsterdam’s chicest shopping and dining districts. Stop in The Otherist , a shop filled with framed curiosities of all kinds; Mendo , a bookshop focusing on fashion, design, architecture, and photography; or Love Sto...
